It might be fair enough to guess that integrating an eco-community would gather a lot of like-minded people. However, based on my own experience and random encounters, I have found that “eco-types” are not immune to the diversity found in society as a whole. To avoid possible misunderstandings leading to conflicts, it appears essential to know oneself and quite possibly the full spectrum of human personality types.
There are many personality and/or psychometric tests, Edward De Bono’s “Six thinking hats” being a good introduction to personality types and thinking patterns (venturing into lateral thinking). However a google “personality test” search ranks as a first result this website personality test
The 16 personalities test, which is free and fairly accessible for non initiates, is based on the MBTI model (Myers-Briggs type indicator), a questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. (short quote from wikipedia)
Some personality types are clearly out of boundaries, ranking a low percentage within a typical population sample. As for the “mastermind” behind Conscious Floyd, himself being a self proclaimed freak, his results unsurprisingly draw up several profiles. Depending on his mood at the time of the test being taken those types being:
“ISFP” or “ISTP” or “INFP” or “INTP” standing respectively for:
“Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving”
“Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving”
“Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving”
“Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving”
Though that’s when I don’t feel like extraversion makes up for a change. Blame it on Yoga and Change.
So I went and bought the 16 personalities .pdf description package. Planning to have fun improvising some of them in impromptu permaculture gatherings/extra curricular activities within my next eco-community.
Looks first thirst !
When overthinking feels like a merry trip to the cemetery, it comes as second nature to go primal: Look at them live bodies!
I have found the 9 energies enneagram to take things a little further than quick guesses:
It’s a comprehensive framework describing body posture/structure, specific physical and energetic markers. Non verbal communication could just become a little clearer from now on. I seem to navigate between body moods but “natural energy 9” types and their keen body awareness integrating breath and movement goes a long way to empower my strive for the flow. In other words: elusive, magical/mystical gait equates “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” ?
